Amid the racial dismay of America over the past 10 years, there has been a noticeable uptick in the involvement of young urban black men. Especially in the form of educators and impactful role models for the youth. One such active brother emerges with a “by any means necessary” approach to Afrikan Centered education.

Benjamin “Blak Pantha” Njie was born in Harbor City California in Los Angeles county. After spending sometime in various cities in California his mother who was a school teacher met one of the Pan Afrikan communities most renown scholars named Asa Hillard who told her all the teaching jobs were down south. So they moved to Atlanta Ga, where most of Benjamin’s upbringing took place, later relocating to North Carolina near Greensboro.

Njie is the founder of a scholarship group called the Mossi Warrior Clan. Which drew inspiration from the Mossi Empire that comes out of Burkina Faso in Afrika. The Mossi engage in teaching the masses about many epistemologies related to the Afrikan existence. Science, History, Spirituality, Ideology, are some things they provide information on. As a collective, the Mossi are authors of over 20 publications to include children’s books, two Pan Afrikan Journals and more. They also established a publishing company called Same Tree Different Branch in which the Mossi Warrior Clan helps young authors, write, edit and publish their books.

“When I came into the conscious community I noticed that people had a love for Afrika but that love did not extend much beyond Egypt. I wanted to change that narrative.” -Benjamin Njie

Eventually Benjamin teamed up with Ankh ‘The Godkiller” West and Nehisi Djedefre to form the Mossi Warrior Clan to tell the stories of West Afrika. This quickly transitioned onto telling the stories of all of Afrika East, West, North and South.

The biggest supporters of the Mossi Warrior Clan are those seeking to know about Afrika in the past, present and future. “Men and Women that want to be empowered by information that pertains to our existence.” says Njie. “ Men and women that want to learn about our culture, history, genetics, archeology, linguistics, and the lessons learned from the wise old Baobab trees that still exist within or spiritual history.” he exclaimed.

The movement looks to spark Afrikan minds globally. The ones that are tired of the racist narratives put out in our society daily. The ones that want Afrikan sovereignty. That are not afraid of speaking the truth and challenging present and pass narratives. The ones that don’t mind making the necessary sacrifices for the upcoming generations.

Among the notable figures the Mossi Warrior Clan has worked with are James Small, Asar Imhotep, Ankh the Godkiller,

Blak Pantha with the late scholar Ronuko Rashidi.

Professor Griff, Mwalimu Baruti, Baba Imhotep, Omowale Afrika, Chief Foday Ajamu, Serie Mcdougal, Baba Amin, Stic Man from Dead Prez, Bdot the God, YG Preech, RJ Mahdi, Brother Oriire and Kwaku, Trans Atlantic Productions, RBG Nation, Amen Ra Squad and Kofi Piesie TV.

For the Mossi Warrior Clan, the long term goal is to reorientate Afrikan people towards our culture and keep them informed with accurate information so that they can make impactful decisions for themselves, their families and their communities.

Currently Njie is writing a solo book entitled “Afrikan Spirituality for the Afrikan Diaspora” scheduled for release in 2022. He is also leading an Afrikan Spirituality Masterclass on Udemy.com entitled Afrikan spirituality 101.

When asked what’s his advice for others in his position, Njie replied:

“Be prepared to make the necessary sacrifices to for Afrikan people. Review the Pan Afrikan mindset from the Pan Afrikan congress, Molefi Asante, Kwame Toure, Marcus Garvey, Thomas Sankara, Julius Nyerere and other Afrikan freedom fighters. I also want to suggest getting into science. Contrary to popular believe science is an Afrikan invention and the more we become competent in this field of study the more we can remove the wool from our eyes and dispel urban legends and lies.”
